Our Bee Control Services

At Allied Pest Management, our bee exterminators are experienced in handling various types of bees and wasps, including Africanized honey bees. We will assess your property to identify the specific stinging insect and the severity of the issue. This is typically done by checking for hives or swarms. We will create a customized treatment plan that is suitable for the type of pest and your property. We use environmentally-friendly products and techniques that do not harm the bees. Our approach focuses on humane strategies to eliminate the infestation and provide you with peace of mind.
As part of our service, we will provide recommendations to help you prevent future bee problems. These suggestions may include sealing your home, filling in potential hive formation areas, and screening all vents.

Bee Control

  1. Remove outdoor clutter like stacks of dry wood and decaying leaves near your house.
  2. Keep unused hoses, buckets, and planters away from your home.
  3. Completely remove any old nests or hives to prevent bees from returning.
  4. Inspect your house for small openings and seal them with caulk, screening, foam, or silicone.
  5. When planning your landscape, place flowering plants far away from your house.
  6. Avoid creating standing water sources that attract bees. Empty containers, debris, and toys that may hold water. Instead, provide a container of water in a secluded area away from your home for the bees to drink from.

It's hard to distinguish Africanized bees from European honeybees. The distinguishing factor between the two species is their behavior. Africanized honey bees are more aggressive and will protect their hive over a larger area compared to European honey bees. Africanized bees will only sting if their nests are threatened by someone or something nearby.

Since all bee colonies can be risky, it's best to contact Allied Pest Management for help in identifying the bees in your yard.

Bees are attracted to water sources in our dry climate. This includes swimming pools, fountains, birdbaths, and leaky garden faucets. They may also take small amounts of water from objects like watering cans or flower pots.

It is not recommended to try removing bees yourself. There is a risk of encountering aggressive bees that can harm you, your family, or your pets. Searching online may suggest DIY methods like using chemicals, hitting the hive, spraying water, or setting it on fire. However, these methods are not effective and can be dangerous. At Allied Pest Management, we have experts who can safely and humanely remove bee infestations. Contact us for a free quote on our bee extermination services.

Bee removal costs vary depending on factors like hive size and location. Allied Pest Management can give you a personalized, no-obligation estimate.

  • Hornets are the largest kind of wasp.
  • Yellow jackets are a type of wasp.

There are solitary wasps and social wasps. Hornets and yellow jackets are social and live in colonies with a queen. Solitary wasps, like digging wasps and mud daubers, are usually not aggressive.

In terms of appearance, the bald-faced hornets in Vegas are black with white or gray bands and are typically larger than wasps. Yellow jackets can be identified by the black and yellow bands on their bodies. If you're unsure about the stinging insect you've seen at your home, please reach out to us. Our skilled technicians can identify the pest and suggest a personalized treatment plan.

To avoid bee stings:

  • Be cautious around undisturbed areas where bees may nest, like sheds.
  • Check the area before using outdoor equipment.
  • If you see a nest, call a professional. Do not attempt to exterminate it yourself.
  • If you see a bee, don't swat at bees.
  • Wear light-colored clothes and stay away from strong scents.
  • Be careful around flowers and if you're allergic, talk to your doctor about carrying an epinephrine auto-injector.
  • Assume that all types of bees can sting you.
