TREATMENT FOR ANTS

Ants are a very common nuisance in Las Vegas due to the favorable weather conditions. Once established, ant colonies can rapidly expand. Seeking ant control from a professional exterminator is necessary to effectively eliminate these pests, as many DIY methods may inadvertently stimulate egg production, leading to larger colonies.

Our Ant Control Process

When you have an ant problem, it's crucial to act fast to avoid further issues. Our experts are well-trained in ant removal and will inspect your property to determine the ant species causing the problem, the source of the infestation, and how they are entering your space.

After the inspection, we will create a customized treatment plan based on your specific situation. Different ant species require different methods of treatment, and the location of the ants in your home also influences how we handle the situation. We use safe organic products to treat ant hills, colonies, and affected areas, ensuring the safety of your family and pets.

Our ant control services involve a recurring treatment plan to completely eradicate the infestation and prevent future ones. Typically, we will revisit your property every two months for re-treatment. Explore our home and commercial pest control service options for more information.

Ant Control

Most ants prefer to live outside, but some types like carpenter ants and odorous ants will enter your home in search of food. They send out workers to search for food and leave pheromone trails to guide other ants to the source. It doesn't take long for more ants to join, so you may see a few ants before bed and a larger group when you wake up!

Interior precautions:

  • Regularly clean your countertops, cabinets, and pantry to remove crumbs that can attract ants.
  • Immediately clean up any spills on countertops or floors to avoid attracting ants.
  • Store fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator instead of leaving them out where ants can find them.
  • Check for sources of water that ants may be seeking, such as a dripping faucet or leaking pipe.
  • Dispose of any uneaten pet food every night and store it in tightly sealed containers. Also, clean the area around your pet's bowls.
  • Keep sweeteners in containers with tight lids and avoid leaving empty soda or juice cans in the house, as ants are attracted to sugary foods.

Exterior precautions:

  • Trim any tree or plant limbs that touch your house, as ants can use them as bridges.
  • Keep mulch at least two feet away from the foundation of your home, or even further if possible.
  • Avoid allowing wood, stones, or other debris to touch your house, as ants are drawn to moist soil.

Ants may not be the first insects that come to mind when thinking about dangerous pests, but they do carry some health risks. While searching for food, worker ants can pick up disease-causing organisms and spread them in your home. For instance, a trip from the bathroom or a waste receptacle could result in pathogens being transferred to your kitchen. Some people may experience severe reactions to ant stings or bites, particularly if they have allergies to ant venom.

DIY methods for getting rid of ants may only eliminate the ants that are visible to you. However, there are many more ants in their colony, possibly even thousands. The challenge lies in finding and treating the source. Different types of ants reside in different areas of your property, such as woodpiles or the soil. Unfortunately, most ants are willing to relocate their nests.
